The Big Move

Ok, so here we go. As of this Sunday, the 27th, J and I are officially citizens of a new state. We are packing everything we own (hopefully) into a UHaul truck and driving our way out of here. Amazing.

I am so excited to create a new life in a new place. I have moved a motherload of times in my life so I really understand that moving doesn't ever end anything, it only creates new beginnings. And that to me is spectacular. I'm excited to meet new friends, explore new areas, work on carving out a new life in a totally new place. Luckily we have the support of our two best friends up there already ... which will definitely make life easier. But this is our chance to create something new as well.

This move means a lot to me because, as much as I have loved Cambridge and thought of it as home for half my life now, I don't actually want to raise my children here. I want to have the opportunity to raise them in a place where there are significantly fewer people and life has a different, slower, easier attitude. And considering that kid number one is showing up in just three months, now is the right time to make this change.

So goodbye, Cambridge. I love you more than you will ever know. You gave me years and years of enjoyment and beauty and laughter and road rage and smelly streets and unbelievably convenient video stores. You have made a world of difference in my life and I will never be able to thank you enough for it. But now it's time for me to move on. I'm not saying that this is forever, but for right now I'm outta here.

Lots of love.

YIPPEEEE!!!!!!!!

We got an apartment!!!

It wasn't either one of our first choices, but it was second for both of us. And it's cool and funky and awesome and totally us. And thank fucking god, that's one hell of a load of my back. So happy. So, so, so happy!
